<a href="spotify:artist:1MiCkG6LErHcycrQaOTlyd" data-name="Barcelona Marching Band">Barcelona Marching Band</a> is a brass band located in Gauteng province in a township called Duduza, Nigel. It is situated in the East of Johannesburg, South Africa. The band was formed in the early 80s with only 1 trumpet, 1 euphonium and 1 Alto horn. It was found by the late Archbishop Lesolang Petrus Mogudi who is also the founder of the St Paul Apostolic Church Of BBM.
The band paused it's activities in the late 90s due to financial strains then was later continued in the year 2004 till to present. The current generation is the 6th. The name "Barcelona" comes from its fans around 2006 as they compared the band's performance to the all time greatest spanish team, Barcelona.
They released their debut album titled <a href="spotify:album:4zzHoMwWWOLLM59cR3rZZz" data-name="We Bathandwa">We Bathandwa</a> (Beloved) in late November 2023. The album is available in most major digital platforms.
