Barely Autumn writes unpretentious indie rock songs about everyday life. Their music pays tribute to prosaic – and therefore profoundly human – experiences such as heartache, love, anxiety or just plain having beers with friends.
The band’s straightforward lyrics remind of Pavement and Sebadoh while their sound at times alludes to both Wilco and Eels.
After having released their self-titled debut (2017) and second album ‘Day Trip to the Petting Zoo’ (2020), Barely Autumn started working on new material again.
While the band started out as the brainchild of Brussels based singer-songwriter Nico Kennes, it now consists of five members – including a recently joined backing vocalist and pianist.
Barely Autumn’s newest track, entitled ‘Calling Off Tomorrow’, was released last September via the Hamburg based rock label Massive 92.
