Bark Dog is the bedroom recording project of nonbinary songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and artist Blair Jasper, who uses they/them pronouns. Born in 1998 and influenced by the sonic tinkering of contemporaries like <a href="spotify:artist:7Ht57YadlBXcFJDK3plmhO" data-name="The Microphones">The Microphones</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:1R84VlXnFFULOsWWV8IrCQ" data-name="Panda Bear">Panda Bear</a> and <a href="spotify:artist:6lcwlkAjBPSKnFBZjjZFJs" data-name="Alex G">Alex G</a>, they began recording and releasing music in their hometown of Newton, MA in their junior year of high school with the album <a href="spotify:album:6W2SPLdwPlvzg38nS3TEQb" data-name="Today and Then Tomorrow">Today and Then Tomorrow</a> in 2016, a collage of introspective indie folk tunes paired with ambient sound experiments. The 14th Bark Dog album, <a href="spotify:album:7BH2EnnCl26fPMnHDvOHWu" data-name="i'll eat you, i love you">i'll eat you, i love you</a>, a meditation on queer love/intimacy, grief, trauma, friends, family and getting older, was released on March 27th 2024, bringing together lush indie rock with flourishes of post-punk, experimental pop and psychedelic-tinged folk music. A recent graduate of Bennington College, they now live in Allston, Massachusetts and their new live album, <a href="spotify:album:5kRaZMMgtc4J3VHfNZUgfK" data-name="i'll eat you, i love you (live)">i'll eat you, i love you (live)</a> is out now.
