BARNARD is an 80s and early 90s inspired synthwave project featuring the compositions of Melbourne drummer and composer Alex Barnard. His life-long obsession with old-school cult action films and their epic instrumental soundtracks, combined with his love for synthwave juggernauts The Midnight, Gunship and Robert Parker, has ultimately led to the creation of Alex’s first solo project. Characterised by splashy synth top lines, nostalgic string pad harmonies and thunderous rhythm section grooves, BARNARD is a project that should keep every old mate who refuses to upgrade from VHS to DVD happy.
