ARIA Award-winning pianist, composer, Barney McAll moved from Australia to New York City in 1997 to join the legendary Gary Bartz Quartet.
He’s played and recorded with Dewey Redman, Roy Ayers, Maceo Parker, Fred Wesley & the JB’s, Jimmy Cobb, Kurt Rosenwinkel (Heartcore), Aloe Blacc, Kenny Garrett, Peter Apfelbaum, Groove Collective, Josh Roseman Unit, Vernel Fournier, Billy Harper, and more. McAll moves freely across musical worlds, always with heart and invention at the core.
In 2011–2012, he served as musical director for global pop icon Sia. He was awarded the prestigious Peggy Glanville-Hicks Composer Residency in 2015 and won the ARIA Award for Best Jazz Album the same year for Mooroolbark.
With over 100 recordings and 30 solo releases to his name, Barney continues to carve out a space for bold, music that resists imitation.
