Alberto Molesini, aka Baro, is a bassist, poli-instrumentist, singer and songwriter. In 1978 he forms the group La Sintesi and in 1980 writes Lucillo & Giada to feed the band's live setlist, an unripe but ambitious concept. In 1983 Topic Würlenio provides new live material for La Sintesi. In the 90s he cooperates with groups such as Hydra and the pop-metal duo Elam. In 2000, with the help of new tech, themes and ideas left undeveloped are resumed and Utopie comes out.
He joins the prog band Marygold for their acclaimed 2017 album "One Light Year". This experience drives Baro to carry on the dream of seeing the prog-jets of youth come true. After a respectful yet creative recovery work, on Jan 2019 the early albums are released in double pack by Andromeda Relix, meeting good critical acclaim.
Baro opens the next construction site for Utopie, still a little rough. Released on Feb 2021, it ushers in the mature course of Baro prog's artistic parabola: architectural complexity diluted by usable melodies, refined but direct vocal polyphonies.
On May 10, 2024 he performs live with the so-called “Baro 60 progkestra”. The focus then shifts to the completion of the 4th prog-jet, which will take on the format of rock opera, with many guest including Iacopo Meille (Tygers of Pan Tang), Heather Findlay (Ayreon), Meghi Moschino (Quanah Parker) and Andrea Vilardo (Blind Golem). The album is released on May 22, 2025 under the title prog-jet iv: Aionverse. Critics are speakin' out...
