Guitarist Barry Galbraith played with <a href="spotify:artist:6ZgdIQk5ovcjPgOtI4glds">Babe Russin</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:3DtSOCXYU6o4EV0K1NgIKq">Art Tatum</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:6TDBjaKrCj3BvbxhiUSbog">Red Norvo</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:3TERig5crEAorh27hzoaLL">Hal McIntyre</a> and <a href="spotify:artist:44zDMAXem8B6CrNIkqYodn">Teddy Powell</a> after moving to New York from Vermont in the early '40s. He was in <a href="spotify:artist:6ThTN0WCRCAtG00Htf7CUW">Claude Thornhill</a>'s band from 1941 to 1942, and again from 1946 to 1949 following army service. Galbraith was a busy studio musician in the '50s and '60s, playing with <a href="spotify:artist:1pBuKaLHJlIlqYxQQaflve">Benny Goodman</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:5V0MlUE1Bft0mbLlND7FJz">Ella Fitzgerald</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:2lolQgalUvZDfp5vvVtTYV">Tony Bennett</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:0dIXV3ffgWlMcnywNIy0Wf">Tal Farlow</a>, and <a href="spotify:artist:7g9DeYASD3RzlT4kDchsQZ">Gil Evans</a> among others. He toured with <a href="spotify:artist:27hSR8e34ZM5vj5fUFixyb">Stan Kenton</a> in 1953, and was prominently involved with the film "After Hours" in 1961. Galbraith became a teacher in the '70s, and devoted most of his time to that role. He published the "Barry Galbraith Guitar Study Series" in 1982." ~ Ron Wynn
