Bart van Liemt first gained national recognition in 2004 as the frontman and main songwriter of The Sheer, an award-winning band known for its Top 40 hits, sold-out tours, and festival appearances at Lowlands and Pinkpop. After a decade of success, he moved into electronic music with Baskerville, delivering high-energy shows across Europe, including sets at Leeds Festival and Sziget.
Later, under his indie alter ego alias Bade, he released Miracle Wave, recorded in the UK with producer Sam Williams (Supergrass, The Go! Team). The album was nominated for Best Alternative Album at the Edison Music Awards. In 2021, Bart launched The Astral Twins with JP Hoekstra (Krezip, Danny Vera), releasing a new song each year on their shared birthday.
In 2024, a spontaneous acoustic post of Something to Say (The Sheer) on Instagram sparked overwhelming reactions — and reignited his passion for songwriting and performing.
Now, for the first time, Bart is releasing music under his own name. His debut solo single Here’s to Forever drops this May, with a full EP on the way.
