BASHKA - from Melbourne to the world

From the beating heart of Melbourne, a sound rises - raw, hypnotic and fiercely alive. This is Bashka! Bashka blends traditional Turkish melodies with modern beats, creating an electrifying fusion of East and West. Their music is a celebration of culture, rhythm and resistance. Drawing inspiration from Anatolian folk, 70s psychedelic rock, old school grooves, gritty beats and modern electronica, Bashka’s sound breaks boundaries and moves bodies.

Bashka’s live performances mix electronic beats and live loops with instruments such as but not limited to; alto saxophone, EWI, percussions, drums, guitars, bağlama, oud, kanun, electronic toys and multi vocalists. They’ve been quoted as “Exotic and infectiously danceable!” by PBS radio in Melbourne. The band performed at many major festivals such as WOMADelaide, Milyon Fest (Turkey), Melbourne International Women’s Jazz Festival and Brunswick Music Festival, and local and international venues such as The Corner Hotel, Howler, Northcote Social Club, Babylon Istanbul, Peyote Eskisehir, EskiYeni Ankara and many more.
Bashka is currently collaborating with new artists from Europe and Australia and producing new singles as well as preparing to hit local and international stages hard in 2025 and beyond.
