The rock duo of Bass Battery features Norwood Cheek (bass, vocals) and Rob Ladd (drums). The two originally met when their high school bands played together in Chapel Hill, NC. Ladd then moved to Los Angeles and became a sought after drummer - playing on Alanis Morrisette's Jagged Little Pill and touring with Don Henley, Susanna Hoffs, and many others. Cheek also moved to LA to pursue filmmaking and continued to write and record music. Years later the two found themselves back in Chapel Hill and decided it was time to start a band. Their 9 song debut record - Life in Shambles, is the coming together of similar journeys and a shared determination to write and create music that ignores the limitations of just bass and drums and establishes a sound that is driving, indie pop, rock and roll.
