Batuhan Aydın is a pioneering kaval player and composer based in Istanbul. Widely regarded as one of the leading figures in contemporary kaval playing, he has redefined the instrument’s role in both traditional and modern music. Deeply rooted in the folk traditions of Anatolia and the Balkans, his work blends traditional kaval techniques with jazz, folk, and experimental improvisation. He is the founder of "<a href="spotify:artist:3G7SjFeaG4Am2IdfwUQTlW" data-name="KAPIKO">KAPIKO</a>", one of Türkiye’s most acclaimed ethno/world jazz and fusion ensembles, as well as the "Batuhan Aydın Folk Quartet", and the soloist of internationally celebrated projects such as "Chifte Kaval" with <a href="spotify:artist:6jTwlLo8MHnoD1CsKlIYdD" data-name="Theodosii Spassov">Theodosii Spassov</a>. In addition to his artistic work, Aydın is active as an academic and scholar, regularly conducting workshops and masterclasses across the globe.
