Who is Bazes?
My name is Bas and I am a rapper based in Amsterdam. My passion for music started when I picked up the guitar. After a few years rap caught my eye as well and I wanted to write a song. It didn’t really work out at first. I tried playing the guitar while rapping, but I totally got stuck. Then I looked for a random beat on the internet and it just clicked. I was amazed how it turned out and I wanted to explore more about the rap genre. I posted a few covers on my Instagram. I will never forgot the first song I covered. It was ‘Airplanes’ by B.o.B. My sister send me a message to ask if I was playbacking it. That was a sign for me that I was on the right path. This was in 2018 and since then I never stopped with writing and releasing music.

What is your dream?
My dream would be to make a full time living with my music. It’s my biggest passion and this is what I want to do for the rest of my life. In this way I can inspire people and tell my story through the music.

With what rappers would you compare yourself?
The style I would compare my songs to, would be close to NF and Machine Gun Kelly. These are also the two artists that inspire me to keep going and chase my dream. Although it’s hard to compare myself with one typical artist. I did a song with Terry Mak called ‘She Got Away’. This is more of a laid back and R&B type of song where I rap in the verses.
