For years, BB Bean (but you can call them Bean) has been building the soundtracks of their life. Growing from a little kid in Crowley, Texas, to making tunes in a UNT dorm, to releasing their debut EP, <a href="spotify:album:5DcGsEx2f8Sy8f5kGf5T7L" data-name="Sweet Bitterness">Sweet Bitterness</a>, Bean’s rise has been a wild ride, and it only gets wilder from here.
Inspired by the emotions you feel watching coming-of-age films, Bean’s music explores all aspects of life and love; the crushes and crying, the missed chances and misread signs, the living and learning, and everything in between. Drawing from her own life, dreams, hopes, and lost loves, as well as observations of her peers, Bean creates moments fit for the movies of your life.
A sonic flexibility comparable to artists like The 1975 and beabadoobee, Bean jumps around a range of genres, scoring their scenes with notes of indie pop and alternative rock, laced with new wave guitars, bubblegum pop synths, and confessional folk music accessories. But Bean’s unique writing abilities tie these sounds together, with self-written lyrics and melodies that could’ve been penned by the likes of Conan Gray or Taylor Swift, two artists whose impact on Bean’s musical ethos can not be overstated enough.
