BEAR TRAP have been playing high energy punk rock and roll for punters around New Zealand since 2020. From their home base in Ōtautahi/Christchurch, they’ve been applying their DIY or DIE attitude to tearing up stages one night at a time.
With musical influences ranging from Aussie pub rock bands like Stiff Richards, CLAMM and Civic through to hardcore acts such as Turnstile and Zero Boys, Bear Trap write fast and loose tunes with catchy hooks, memorable choruses and ripping solos. Their no-frills power trio approach has all members sharing vocal duties and writing songs about the personal and the political; from the sublime to the ridiculous. It’s a no-frontman, call and response style which lends itself to great live performances.
