Beaugé

Born in the nation’s capital, Haitian Canadian artist Beaugé is a being beyond the metrics and hype of the digital era. A cutthroat lyricist who writes above emcees heads. And so the blade falls; proverbial heads roll downhill. Beaugé’s stage performance has been known to shake the foundation of many venues. As the kids say “he’s a problem”.

This type of mythology is what rap lore used to thrive on. Today “Old Man River” lives in his own world which is very much shaped by foundational tenets and progressive ideas. The goal is music with a purpose of growth, that is a shared journey.

The son of respected Poet/Novelist and Haitian political exilé Jacqueline Beaugé Rosier; Dojo Bonski aka Beaugé has quietly built relationships while honing his sound with his team (Ethics Gallardo, Just Unlimited, Dwayne Graham). Beaugé’s continued ties to the Canadian indie scene have grown his network considerably..

Beaugé Soleil were recently featured on the Ontario Place Summer Series Labour Day 2023 finale with The Academy Presents. A busy performance calendar also included a run of Sofar Sound appearances in Toronto and Ottawa. Beaugé and Soleil teamed up again in September 2024 for a performance on Day 2 of The Cranium Festival in Ottawa at Saw Gallery.

Fresh off the release of Go Yard feat Truss; Beaugé is preparing to launch his LEGGO BRICKS concert series. The 3 city event starts with the first date April 12, 2025 at Division 88 in collaboration with Roshin and Jarrel The Young.
