Beaver Sheppard

Beaver Sheppard is a Canadian singer-songwriter, master chef, and painter. Born in St. John’s, Newfoundland, he is an icon of the Montreal underground and slightly-aboveground music scenes, as well as one of the city's most beloved deep-cover performance artists, or “people.” 
In addition to his considerable output as a solo artist, he also makes music as part of adult contemporary post-punk duo CO/NTRY, after-hours headliners Secret SecretGirl, popular German festival attraction Brandt Brauer Frick, internet rave phenomenon Drugface, and his solo alias John Shape. He has also contributed vocals to recordings by the legitimately famous DJ/producer Ricardo Villalobos. As head chef and featured performer at legendary local restaurant/music venue/art space/affectionate Cheers 
homage/abomination Bethlehem XXX, Sheppard played a key role in alternately galvanizing and repulsing both the city’s creative elite and self-styled moral dregs from around the world. 
His upcoming solo album, Still in Love, will include a collection of acoustic bedroom recordings that really make you feel the bedroom, whatever that’s supposed to mean with a few dance numbers thrown in for good measure. At the time of this writing, goals include a nomination for a Polaris Prize or a much-coveted Canada’s Got Music gift certificate. One can dream.
