Bedrock (The Band In The Sand)

BEDROCK (The Band In The Sand) was originally formed in the isolated desert expanses of the Namib Desert in Namibia in 1994. The band gigged for 20 years and released six albums of original material during that period. They refer to their sound as "desert rock", a mix of influences ranging from folk to the blues, always underpinned with lots of subtle humour. BEDROCK enjoyed considerable air play in Namibia and performed far and wide, constantly gigging, orimarily, on the Namibian and South African west coasts. In 2015 the band morphed into the Cape Town-based BEDROCK PROJECT due to members relocating. One album under the BEDROCK PROJECT title was released in 2017. A new project, PETE'S PLANET, anchored by a previous BEDROCK founder has been initiated and a debut album is expected in 2020.
