Dublin trio Bedrooms "bridge the gap between dream pop and gazed-out indie with a straight-up slowcore sensibility”, carving out a loyal fanbase in Ireland and the UK, while drawing global critical attention from Rolling Stone’s Rob Sheffield: “Bedrooms offer a perfect soundtrack to all the doomed crushes you're about to have.”
2024 saw Bedrooms release their critically acclaimed debut album Perfectly Still, returning to YAWN Studios to work with Bill Ryder-Jones, who previously produced their 2021 EP Afterglow. Perfectly Still sees the band expand on the sound of their early releases, blending elements of alternative rock, folk, shoegaze, and slowcore. The album appeared on many best-of end-of-year lists drawing comparisons with Galaxie 500, Pavement, Alex G and Cocteau Twins.
“Perfectly Still does what great shoegaze music does – it makes you feel achingly nostalgic, even if you can’t place what you’re nostalgic for.” - Hot Press
“Bedrooms gives us an album that exudes compositional talent and melody, a background of right listening and love for guitars and the recording studio.” - indie-zone.it
"We're hearing elements of slowcore group Codeine, the snowdrift charm of Galaxie 500, and even the DIY songsmithery of Alex G, all distilled into something potent and unique." - Clash
"If heady guitars and a dose of atmospherics are what you want to soundtracking these current rather reflective days, then Dublin's Bedrooms have exactly the track for you." - DIY
