Beerjacket

Beerjacket is the musical title of Scottish singer/songwriter Peter Kelly. 


Having begun life as a lo-fi solo home-recording project, Beerjacket quickly grew with the popularity of numerous DIY albums leading to shows with <a href="spotify:artist:2cCUtGK9sDU2EoElnk0GNB" data-name="The National">The National</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:7bcbShaqKdcyjnmv4Ix8j6" data-name="St. Vincent">St. Vincent</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:6PBv8t9YTLggA9ZMwpeoqj" data-name="Joan As Police Woman">Joan As Police Woman</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:6Jrj26oAY96EEC2lqC6fua" data-name="Squeeze">Squeeze</a> and <a href="spotify:artist:6fVcDUckTwxqg56qNsEvUr" data-name="Frightened Rabbit">Frightened Rabbit</a> amongst many others. Beerjacket has drawn significant praise and attention in many publications, including The Herald, The Skinny and Fortitude Magazine. 


Kelly began playing guitar and writing songs in bands as a teenager, inspired by the likes of <a href="spotify:artist:6olE6TJLqED3rqDCT0FyPh" data-name="Nirvana">Nirvana</a> - an influence that continues to permeate the energy and spirit of Beerjacket. 2011&#39;s debut studio album The White Feather Trail resulted in extensive media attention including a live BBC TV appearance to half a million people. The next album Darling Darkness appeared in 2014 with single Two Travel playlisted by BBC Scotland and several tracks being placed in BBC’s The Mountain TV series. In 2018, Beerjacket received even greater acclaim with the release of Silver Cords, a unique album and book of songs and accompanying short stories. In addition to tour dates with <a href="spotify:artist:6ZWUhhSv3IahZyW5keNSxK" data-name="Kristin Hersh">Kristin Hersh</a> and a BBC Quay Sessions TV performance, Silver Cords was supported by appearances at Aye Write and Edinburgh International Book Festival.
