Turkish guitarist and composer Behzat Cem Günenç was born in Ankara. He started his early music education with Ercan Taniş. In 1993 he arranged music videos for Classical Guitar for T.R.T (Turkish National Radio &TV). In 1998 he studied at Vienna State Conservatory with Professor Heinz Wallish and in 2000 he studied guitar performance at Graz City Conservatory with Professor Johanne Palier.

Behzat Cem Günenç performed in many concerts in Graz. In 2003 during his military service he performed 300 concerts and received certificate of honor.

He performed in premiere performances of globally acclaimed composers and performers like Necati Giray, Fazıl Say, Ceyhun Saklar.

Mr. Günenç is the organizer of İstanbul Technical Uni. Guitar Festival, Karadeniz Technical Uni. Guitar Festival and Kocaeli Uni. Guitar Days.

While preparing his graduation thesis “Analysis of Turkish Classical Guitar Methods” he also wrote his own guitar method which published in 2010. In order to modify his unique technique for this method he trained 700 students gratis. Today with his free of charge Turkish Online Guitar School Project klasikgitarcalmakistermisiniz.com, total number of students exceeded 2000.

As a composer Mr. Günenç’s works are being performed regularly in leading national and international festivals. Mr. Günenç’s artistic productions won critical acclaim by guitar authorities.

Today, he is full-time occupied with musicology, pedagogy, music composition and performance.
