Belle's sound is one you cannot ignore, with a blend of Afrobeats, ballad and RnB, Belle is set to be the face of the new wave of AfroBeats. Born and raised in PortHarcourt, the city of untapped talent, the 22 year old artist was raised in a household that exposed her to a wide range of singers at an early age, from Jennifer Hudson to Michael Bublé to Whitney Houston, P-square, Burna Boy, Adele, Duncan Mighty & 2Baba, Belle's sound draws inspiration from the rawness these artists and her city identify with, the out of body confidence of Beyonce, the lyrical depth of Adele and her own unique style, seeing as she designs and makes the clothes she wears.
Belle describes her sound as AfroBallad because although her lyrics sit on an Afro Beat, her lyrics are written in a way Ballad songs are. She likens her lyrics to poems, seeing as that is where her love for writing came from. She takes pride in the fact that her lyrics make you think and it may be hard to grasp the meaning on first listen. She writes for heavy hearts and souls that have been lost in this losing game called love. She lends her voice not just to her own Gen Z but also to older generations, recognising that heartbreak transcends age.
With her most notable work being Be Patient, released in 2022, Belle has so much more in store for her budding audience and cannot wait to show you all she has planned.
