Bels Lontano

Guitarist turned producer turned composer Bret Bohman's electronic bass music project Bels Lontano has it's roots in the notion that music is therapy in both the act of creation and the act of listening.

"Sleepless nights writing tunes helped me cope with the stress and anxiety of being a young adult. Hours upon hours of idm, house, dnb and ambient music was composed just for fun throughout the last several decades of my life. I found that music was the one thing I could truly get lost in and successfully tune out the rest of the world. I had my own space. It gave me an identity. I eventually went to a formal education at university for music composition but the early days of haphazardly making sounds in my basement and how those formative years really gave me solace and a goal to strive for are at the heart of all these works."

"At the horizon" has reached over 27k listens on Soundcloud and has garnered numerous posts in the blogosphere including incredible blogs such as The Burning Ear, Sawdust and Gin, The New Lofi, Barry Gruff, Abduction Radiation, YES/NO and more. It reached the #3 spot on the HypeM Popular chart on two separate occasions.

"Lovely path" was selected for vol. 25 of Vinyl Moon, a subscription record service from the folks at The Burning Ear. It was released on vinyl with several other fantastic artists.

"Kind Decade" EP was recently released on Soundcloud and Bandcamp.
