Ben Fear is a hip-hop artist from Perth, Western Australia.
Having well-and-truly cut his teeth playing, recording, and touring with bombastic Australian hip
hop/electronica powerhouse The Brow/Brow Horn Orchestra for seven years, Ben now has much shorter
teeth. He honed his craft playing support slots for the likes of Arrested Development, Public Enemy, and De La Soul, and has performed at festivals such as BigSound, Groovin’ The Moo, Pyramid Rock, Future Music Festival, and Beerfest Asia (Singapore).
Ben's debut solo album - "Beast in Your Porridge" - features performances from: POW! Negro (of SUPEREGO); Sam Perry (Winner of The Voice Australia 2018); Lyndon Blue (of Methyl Ethel); Chil Collins; and Joshes Ellis and Terlick (Alter Boy). It has been co-produced by local stalwarts Chil Collins, Kruger James (f.k.a. Empty), and Wisdom 2th, with final studio recording and mixing courtesy of Matt Gio (Rudimental, Abbe May, San Cisco, Marksman Lloyd). The first two singles taken from the record - “Lotus” and “Fear (feat. POW! Negro)” - have been played (with personal introduction) on …And You Don’t Stop!, the New York-based radio program hosted by Chuck D of Public Enemy. The music video for “Lotus” has been shown multiple times on MTV Australia, while the music video for "Fear" was premiered by themusic.com.au.
