Ben Holst

Ben’s material is a mixture of comedy and sincerity, acoustic and electric, with lyrics and licks that connect with all ages and backgrounds. Raised in Simsbury, Connecticut Ben’s first major musical influence was his Dad - a poet, lover of Bob Dylan, folk singing, and finger style roots music. Ben moved South for college and has been a career musician, producer, engineer and composer in the Atlanta area for over 20 years. He and his company Tunewelders were featured composers on the 4 part Netflix series: The Liberator. Holst participated as a co-producer on India.Arie&#39;s GRAMMY® nominated Songversation:Medicine, is a writer/ performer on the theme song for season 9 of Mike Rowe’s Dirty Jobs, and has worked with artists from The Indigo Girls to Killer Mike, Drive-By Truckers, and Donald Glover (Childish Gambino). Ben is an accomplished multi-instrumentalist and has been on studio recordings too numerous to list. Recently, through the encouragement of many colleagues, Ben has finally taken the step to come out on his own as a songwriter and performer supporting his first single “Ode to the Chili Mac M.R.E” which is now available on all streaming platforms as well as multiple contributions to <a href="spotify:artist:6wGqocpC7h7mceHlyZpmQ0" data-name="Veterans Music Project">Veterans Music Project</a> . Ben is also the primary drummer and producer for Athens, GA based <a href="spotify:artist:1ZMIrilZ1yF25vdQ6mb7mf" data-name="L.F.U.">L.F.U.</a> and a contributing writer and utility player with <a href="spotify:artist:1oKhdTAmCAfBTqgiCF97aF" data-name="Quiet Hounds">Quiet Hounds</a>
