Born in 2000 in Chiang Mai, Thailand, Ben Thal grew up in a warm and supportive family. Music was always more than just a hobby—it was a way to stay grounded through the hardest moments of his life. After years of studying composition at Bangkok University School of Music, he found himself writing songs that he never planned to share with anyone.

Everything changed when Ben lost his girlfriend in a tragic car accident. Grief pushed him into a long silence, but also gave him a reason to write. For a long time, those songs stayed in the background—private, personal, painful. But in early 2024, he made the choice to open that chapter to the world.

His debut EP Back to Myself was made up of songs written for her. They were raw, unpolished, and honest—exactly how grief feels. Just three weeks later, he released Silent Rooms , a record shaped by long nights, heavy thoughts, and the quiet that follows after loss.

In 2025, Ben teamed up with Finn Lavo to release DUSKWEAVER —a more collaborative, but still emotionally charged project. While their styles blend, Ben’s sound remains distinct: stripped-down, slow-burning, and full of feeling.

Ben Thal doesn’t make music to impress. He makes it to feel a little less alone—and maybe help others do the same.
