Benedikt is a 22-year-old singer, songwriter, producer, and audio engineer from Reykjavik, Iceland. He graduated from Reykjavik College of Music in 2023 but is currently a student at Berklee College of Music in Boston. At the age of 6, Benedikt started learning how to play the piano, and around the age of 12, he was already writing classical music. Soon he discovered that pop music was his passion and is where his focus is today. He has been active in choirs, and theatre and studied ballet and other dance styles for many years.
In 2021, Benedikt went through to the finals at Músíktilraunir, an Icelandic competition for young musicians, and was the only solo project competing in the finals. Later that year, Benedikt released his debut EP which was supported by RÚV (The Icelandic National Broadcasting Service) and STEF (Composers’ Rights Society of Iceland). In 2023, Benedikt competed in the Icelandic qualifier for the Eurovision Song Contest (Söngvakeppnin) with the song "Þora" or "Brave Face".
