Benita Haastrup: There was always a lot of music in my childhood home. My father is a jazz musician and my mother loves jazz – and the free expression of jazz and the colors and moods that jazz draws on have also become my way of expressing myself.
Music is my way of communication – playing with and listening to fellow musicians and audiences – a stream of music being created and exchanged between people that transforms into moods and feelings.
I believe that music can heal us and penetrate into areas not accessible by words and concepts.
