Benjamín Schnake is a musician, multi-instrumentalist, composer, arranger and educator, born in Santiago de Chile and based in New York City. With many awards from his home country, most recent 2nd place at the Festival of Osorno 2024, as a performer and orchestral arranger. Bandleader of Nostalgia, boleros and Latin American music, featuring their single release “Mi Gran Pasión.” Member of BMI Jazz Orchestra Composer’s Workshop since 2023 at Fordham University in Manhattan, musician of Trio Caliente, performing all across the US East Coast, featuring their performance at Carnegie Hall in New York City on November 4, 2023, performing charango and classical guitar, musician of Eclectic Charango Beats, featuring their EP release Desierto Incierto, collaborator with Jose Luis “Cheo” Pardo, Alea, Felipe Fournier, Non Residents, and musician of Los Sayas and Huari in Chile. In October 2021 he released The Joy of Playing with the Benjamín Schnake Ensemble, featuring well-known NYC musician and NYU teacher Dave Pietro, along with a Grammy awarded post-production team and NYU alumni, the album consists of original compositions and arrangements for nonet and small ensembles, in a blend of jazz and South American styles.
