Best known as a panelist on the long-running comedy/commentary show 7 Tage, 7 Köpfe (7 Days, 7 Heads), comedian and actor Bernd Stelter has had a string of successful standup albums in his native Germany, along with the occasional novelty hit. After Stelter spent years working the comedy club circuit, radio launched his career nationally. In 1996 he entered the world of television when 7 Tage premiered. Covering current events in an irreverent, sarcastic, and always humorous manner, the show was an instant success. Breaks in the show's production gave Stelter the opportunity to tour the country with his standup act, including his 2000 Geschichten aus der Vorstadt tour, which was aired on television and captured on CD. Novelty songs like "Margarine," a parody of "Macarena," and a cover version of the old Goombay Dance Band hit "Sun of Jamaica" with De Bläck Fööss were hits, as was his 2005 full-length Pubertät Ist Mehr als Pickel, which featured material from the successful -- 200,000 tickets sold -- tour of the same name. ~ David Jeffries, Rovi
