Beste Toparlak

Turkish harpist Beste Toparlak started her music studies with pianist Yevgenia Tarasova in Almaty, Kazakhstan when she was 8. She has a Bachelor in Music degree in Harp from Ankara State Conservatory of Hacettepe University and a Masters degree from Hochschule für Musik & Theater Hamburg working with the former Vienna Philharmonic harpist Xavier de Maistre.



Beste worked with conductors such as Neeme Jarvi, Vladimir Ashkenazy, Simone Young in orchestras such as Bilkent Symphony Orchestra, Hamburg Staats Oper, NDR Symphony Orchestra, Philharmonie der Nationen, Turkish Presidential Symphony Orchestra, Charleston Symphony Orchestra, Charlotte Symphony.



She is the winner of Matinee Musicale Indianapolis Competition’s instrumental category at 2017 and Gold Medalist of Medallion International Artists Competition at 2018.



In May 2019, she graduated from the Indiana University, Jacobs School of Music’s Artist Diploma Program. Beste is the substitute harpist of the Charlotte Symphony Orchestra and continues her career performing in both solo and ensembles on the East Coast U.S.
