Beta Ey is an Icelandic multi-instrumentalist, songwriter and composer who grew up in a household consistently filled with music and creativity. With all 3 of her siblings and both parents being integral fixtures in the Icelandic music scene, it is no surprise that Beta Ey claimed her own unique niche in the tapestry of local artists.
Since emerging into the music scene in 2006, Beta Ey has worked with well known and respected Icelandic and international artists.
She is also a founding member of electronic dance group Sísy Ey and international folk act Systur.
While Beta Ey pulls inspiration from musical pioneers such as Fleetwood Mac, Jeff Buckley, Massive Attack, James Blake, Lana Del Rey and Elliot Smith, she spins a sonic aesthetic combination of vulnerability and rawness that is all her own.
Her debut solo EP “Symphony of Life” exhibits an expansive blend of delicate acoustic instrumentation, dark, organic electronic soundscapes, emotive layers of vocal harmonies and lyrics that seem to tap you on the shoulder and whisper their secrets in your ear.
