A couple Capital University students from Columbus Ohio started making beats from video games in the year 2006. Their mission was to infuse catchy lyrics and instrumentals that transcended boundaries of music styles, time, and space. Beyond Pluto was a name derived from ambition to reach past the furthest part of the box of human existence. Early years were spent discovering basic methods of production, lyricism, hooks, and song structures with no prior knowledge. The group became a live performing band in 2011 and transformed from two turntables and a microphone into a wide range of instruments and band members over the years. Columbus remains their beloved hometown despite performing in other regions and states at times with their heads elevated toward the stars. Notable moments for the band include co-headlining Newport Music Hall in 2016 which is one of the largest concert halls in Ohio, performing for Red White & BOOM in 2012, recognition from The Columbus Dispatch and Columbus Alive for their 2016 album "Adaptation," and radio airplay on CD102.5. T.J. Brown is the lead vocalist/joint producer and only remaining creator since the band's origination, but he credits their significant evolution to Shane Kelson for dabbling in many instruments and somehow igniting anything he touches.
