Markus Shedrack popular known as BG DODO is a Hausa hip-hop artist from northern Nigeria, born August 1997 in Kagarko, Kaduna State. He started making music at 15, and released his first song in 2015 after his WAEC exams. His breakthrough came with the hit single Bashege, which won his family’s support after initial resistance.
He faced early career struggles and moved to Lagos in 2020 for more opportunities, but returned to Abuja after facing hardship — more determined than before. Now, BG DODO is building a distinct sound that blends Hausa melody with his culture and experiences, aiming to put northern Nigerian music on the global map while inspiring young artists from the region.
