Bia Debowski sings with the soul of Brazil in her voice. Rooted in the fertile ground of Música Popular Brasileira, her music is a meeting of ancestral rhythms and personal emotion—delicate, visceral, and luminous. From an early age, she found herself enchanted by the voices of Baby do Brasil, Elba Ramalho, Gal Costa, and Marisa Monte, moved by the cadence of Gilberto Gil, the pulse of Bob Marley, and above all, the poetry and swing of Luiz Melodia.

It is to Luiz Melodia that Bia now dedicates a deeply personal and heartfelt project: a series of reinterpretations that reimagine his songs through her voice and soul. In this tribute, she is joined by masters of Brazil’s instrumental music scene—trumpeter Silvério Pontes, flutist Eduardo Neves, pianist Antonio Guerra, bassist Michael Pipoquinha, among others. Together, they weave soundscapes that honor Melodia’s genius while opening new paths for his timeless work to resonate once more.
