Rashaun Brown a.k.a Big Daddy Flash, is an up and coming hip-hop artist in Virginia who started at the age of 16. Rashaun gets his name from being well-known in high school for being a fast football player, and his key inspiration “Big Daddy” Kane. Big Daddy Kane, Travis Scott, J. Cole, Drake, Bobby Brown, & Jodeci are all artists who greatly impacted Rashuan’s music and sound. Born and raised in Suffolk, Virginia, Big Daddy Flash faced many hardships such as mental health issues, family drama, and financial problems. The obstacles that he faced during his upbringing led him to find solitude in his music. Big Daddy Flash is also a part of a music group named Linden Avenue which is comprised of four other individuals. Big Daddy Flash and Linden Avenue have worked on a collaborative effort with other artists and production specialists to put together SlumLand Visionariez. SlumLand Visionariez is a project that helps to support other artists and make great quality music in the 757 area. Big Daddy Flash creates music in hopes that it can help others like him that may have struggled throughout their adolescent years. His first project “Summer Night in the Fall,” is a well-produced introduction to his new singing style. Those who have kept up with Big Daddy Flash may have been used to him rapping but this project was a breath of fresh air for his followers. Other singles such as “2Night” show off his distinctive singing abilities and intricate lyrics.
