Big Daddy Karsten (BDK) isn’t just a rapper – he’s a walking mic drop. With razor-sharp bars, unapologetic lyrics and a stage presence that slaps, BDK has made his mark on Norway’s hip-hop scene one banger at a time.
Since his debut, he’s released 22 singles, an album, and two EPs, dominated battle rap on national TV, and somehow managed to charm almost a million viewers on Melodi Grand Prix with his feel-good anthem Smile.
He made headlines in 2016 when he came out as gay – becoming one of the first openly queer rappers in Scandinavia. Since then, he’s been a media darling, a role model, and a living reminder that rap is big enough for everyone.
Oh, and Rockheim (Norway’s National Museum of Popular Music) called him one of the most influential artists in the country. No big deal.
