Big Thanda (real name: Sefako Raphela) is a deep house music producer hailing from Seshego, Limpopo, near Polokwane. Known for crafting pulsating tracks that blend soulful melodies with infectious grooves, Big Thanda draws inspiration from legendary artists such as Oscar Mbo, Chymamusique, Artwork Sounds, Scorpion Kings, and Black Coffee. His sound seamlessly bridges classic deep house vibes with modern melodic innovation.

Since his breakout EPs, A Set of Ultrasounds (2019) and King of Ultrasounds (2020), Big Thanda has collaborated with acclaimed vocalists and producers, including Sir Bless, .Isaac., and Mzweshper SA. Notably, his joint EP Irish Melodies with Mnela has garnered critical acclaim, solidifying his status as a rising star in the global house music scene.

In addition to his production work, Big Thanda is the founder and director of the Ultrasounds Sessions Podcast (USS), where his carefully curated mixtapes have captivated listeners and kept fans dancing well into the early hours of release days.
