Billy "Ghost" Yost is a songwriter and producer from Beresford, South Dakota who currently lives in Chicago. After a decade of recording and touring in indie rock group The Kickback, the band elected to take time off, during which time Yost borrowed bandmate Dan Leu's Roland SP 404 sampler and began producing the lofi-hiphop that had been keeping him calm while on tour.

Yost released a boatload of EPs and singles from 2019-2020, after which Indianapolis-based POST. Recordings agreed to issue Yost's debut album, The Haunted Purple Bathtub, released in October of 2020. The Widows' Hill EP was issued on German label Vinyl Digital in early 2021.
