Billy Ray Wheaton

Billy Ray Wheaton, a native of Plant City, Florida, and retired Air Force Veteran with 22 years of service, draws upon his life experiences as a service member, veteran, husband, father and son to infuse his music with raw emotion and authenticity. In 2018, Billy discovered the therapeutic power of music and found respite in the melodies of a guitar, using music to cope with mental health challenges and to cultivate resilience. Inspired by this newfound outlet, Billy ventured into songwriting, pouring his heart and soul into crafting stories and melodies that resonate with his personal experiences. In 2022 Billy returned to his hometown and began playing open mics and solo acoustic performances in the Plant City, Tampa and St Petersburg areas immersing himself in the local music scene, crafting his country and blues inspired sound, and embracing his journey as a singer/songwriter, releasing some of his original music as an independent recording artist.
