Billy T. James was a New Zealand comedian who was popular as an actor throughout the 1980s. Born William James Taitoko in 1948 in Waikato, he was of Māori heritage. He developed his comedy act during the '70s and peaked in popularity during the '80s, when he acted in a variety of mediums, including television and film. James died of a heart attack suddenly on August 7, 1991. The Comic Genius of Billy T.
