Storming in from the hills of North Alabama, Bitter Route, (pronounced like bitterroot), brings nu metal punches with intense hair metal solos. Inspired by a combination of 90s grunge and Y2K metal, they are a 4-piece ensemble consisting of Will Stein on drums, Robyn Belmont on bass, Krow Fates on guitar, and Ricky Hall as their bouncy front man.
Bitter Route started at some point in the late 2010's with Will Stein playing bass, and Krow Fates playing guitar. At this point in time, Hall was part of another project that dissolved into Bitter Route. Once the bands merged, the lineup became Stein, Fates, Ricky Hall on vocals, and Nick Patterson on drums. Patterson would leave the band on good terms to attend college, leading Stein to become the drummer, and a new bassist, Pixie, was introduced.
Their first Album, You Are Loved, was released in 2023, produced by Jeremy Stevens with Clearwave Studios in Decatur, AL. Stein, Fates, Hall, and Pixie were the artists currently in the band at the time of production. Unique tunings and stylistic decisions led You Are Loved to be a very diverse album with no two songs sounding the same. The entire album was remastered by Scot Clayton with SMC Studios in early 2025.
Sometime after the production of the album, Pixie moved away to pursue different musical opportunities. Bitter Route went through many bassists since her departure. As of now, Robyn Belmont is their bassist.
Bitter Route is actively working on a new album for you all.
