"No one can get in my way, because I'm going nowhere," screams Bixlee—the electro-industrial alias of Craig Allien—in the opening track "Going Nowhere" from the new album, COMPUTER CLUB. Initially envisioned as a pop album, COMPUTER CLUB rapidly evolved into something far more sinister, nihilistic, and chaotic. With this release, Bixlee is poised to shake up the most unconventional corners of the dark electronic music scene.
Over 200 chopped-up song fragments are woven into a tangled web of darksynth, witch house, and more, creating a soundscape as fractured as the world it critiques. On COMPUTER CLUB, Bixlee applies his razor-sharp remix and mashup expertise to his own work, resulting in music that is both simple and complex, glitchy and danceable, deadly serious and hilariously absurd.
The first single, "Whoa Whoa Woke," is a sarcastic anthem about the irrational fear of a changing world, while "Easy Mode" skewers those who believe being a landlord is a real job. Each track offers a vulgar, satirical commentary on the absurdity of modern life, wrapped in a digital blanket of distorted beats and disjointed melodies.
COMPUTER CLUB is Craig Allien at his most unhinged—playful, aggressive, and unrelenting.
