Bjarni Ómar is an Icelandic musician, songwriter and publisher. January 14´th 2025, his fourth solo album named "Athvarf" (Refuge) will be released. This new album will contain nine new songs composed by Bjarni in cooperation with great icelandic lyricist. His songs will be for first time now released both in icelandic and english versions. The album is made in collaboration with the icelandic famous musician and recording director and producer Vignir Snær Vignisson. The english version of the album will be released march 12´th 2025 and have been named "Draw me".
Bjarni has previously released three solo albums, "Annað líf" (Another life), which was released in 1998, "Fyrirheit" (Promises), which was released in 2008 and his third album "Engin vafi" (No doubt) was released in 2018.
Bjarni is a member of the bands, Nostal, Góð í hófi and Kokkteil, which have released several single versions.
Over the years 2020 - 2024, Bjarni took his part in “Níu líf” (Nine Lives), which is one of the most popular musical theather shows ever staged in Iceland. The play is about the life of the musician Bubbi Morthens who is one of Iceland's most popular musicians still performing and making music. When the performances of the play were coming to an end, Bjarni did his own version of Bubbi's song named “Stál og hnífur” (Steel and Knife) which he performed in the show. Bjarni's version of the song was released on the 12´th january 2024.
