My name is Bjørn Vidø. I have 2 profiles. This one is my film composer profile. My band profile is “Bjorn Vido and the Music in Space Experience”
I have composed, played and produced to tons of films. Commercials, documentaries, feature movies. This profile contains some of the productions through the years.
From classical music to electronic. From African inspired to punk. 🎸
I’ve have been through most genres.
The main thing as a composer is storytelling. Finding the exact right music to the film/event/project. We have to either emphasize what’s in the picture or what’s missing. Example: If the love scene is amazing, and the actors really looks like they are in love, but we as an audience know it’s a scam, as a composer, we have to put in the suspense. The bass drones. The slightly out off tune instruments…or whatever works -
what’s missing in the scene? How do we find the right balance? I love digging into all that deep emotions. It’s so interesting when the scene is suddenly working and taking off.
I’m also a multiple award winning composer and sound designer - Gold and Silver at Épica, Cannes…I didn’t win an Oscar, but have been nominated. I have my own studio and play most instruments except horns, and know when to call in better instumentalists than myself. Haha.
