BKS was a Toronto, Canada-based techno dance style band that formed in the late '80s and lived a fanciful life for a short few years. Members of the group were guitarist Greg Kavanagh, vocalist Hennie Bekker, and DJ Chris Sheppard. If you separate the first letter from each last name in the order they are listed here, you'll see how the group came up with BKS for a name.

In 1992, the rock group released its first two singles and a debut album, For Those About to Rave...We Salute You. Over the next four years, there were a few other singles finished and two other albums, Dreamcatcher in 1993 and Astroplane in 1996. BKS had a few minor hits and landed on the charts in both Canada and the United States with songs like "Dreamcatcher" and the "Square Dance Song." With little positive press and no hits from its third and last album, the group members went their separate ways in 1997, some making their way as part of other music projects. ~ Charlotte Dillon, Rovi
