Bl@ck c@t (aka Marshfire) is a biracial Noise Rock artist from Omaha, Nebraska, known for albums like “Postcard” and singles like “Love Her More”. Born in Paris, France, she moved frequently before finally settling down in Nebraska. She formed a band that started as a SOAD cover group but disbanded after tragedy struck—one member died by suicide, causing two to move away. Left alone, bl@ck c@t pursued solo projects, initially leaning into rap before scrapping most releases. She then dabbled in unreleased Bluegrass demos (“Sally Demos”)before she quit music for two years due to grief and creative burnout. Later inspired by wifiskeleton and producer Paloma’s beats, she joined Paloma’s Discord server, where she faced degradation but ultimately earned respect among fellow artists like Sluke, girled, Yomuno, ohwellwhatever, and many more. Her debut album, “who tf is we?”, led her to another artist, “Femtanyl”’s techno sound, which she adored and emulated with overdriven guitars and distorted drums—crafting her signature noise-rock style.
