A major talent on the Gallic hip-hop scene, Black Kent is one of the few rappers confident enough to showcase his MC skills in both French and English. Born Franck Kacou in Abidjan, Ivory Coast in 1985, he fled to Kenya with his family following political unrest in his homeland, and teamed up with C4 to form the hip-hop duo RSP (who later reconvened under the guise of the Franchise). After moving to Bordeaux to complete his studies, he went on to release several mixtapes, contribute to M. Pokora's MP3, and collaborate with Sagon on the album Djafoul Koncept. In 2010, he supported 50 Cent at the Zenith de Paris and released his debut studio album, Yes I Kent, and after signing to Warner a year later, followed it up with 2012's Vendeur de Rêves. ~ Jon O'Brien, Rovi
