Black Trillium is a death/doom metal collaboration between Simon Skipper (guitar, vocals) and Zachary Carlsson (vocals, bass), formed from their mutual interest in the brooding aesthetics and darkest aspects of the metal genre. Their music explores themes of alienation, inner turmoil, and the impact of nature on the individual.
Founded in Sydney, Australia in 2010, the duo have worked together primarily as a studio project but have performed several select shows throughout the country, sharing stages with the likes of Inverloch, The Eternal, Rise Of Avernus and many more.
After the release of their well-received 2012 debut EP The Locked Woods, Black Trillium are preparing to release their first full-length album this year. 'The Fatal Shore' will further expand upon the project’s sound and thematic scope, incorporating a broader range of musical ideas and concepts.
