Blackbird Leys

Blackbird Leys is an alternative metal band from Rome, Italy. The project was born from an idea of the singer and rhythm guitarist Alfredo Rao Camemi and bass player Andrea Bonanni. After meeting on a trip to Oxford near Blackbird Leys, they returned to their homeland to start making their way into the underground scene of central Italy.
Over the years they have collaborated with several independent Italian realities, performing in every rock club in the region accumulating more and more fans among their ranks.
The band's formation achieved definitive stability in 2017 with Michele Pagano on drums and Tiziano Piticco on lead guitar. They also worked, for several years, as the backing band of the Roman rapper Lucci Brokenspeakers, this interrupted in order to concentrate on the realization of their first album. In this work there are two featuring with Lucci Brokenspeakers and Ludovico "Sbhor" Piccinini, guitarist of the famous Roman band Prophilax.

In June 2019, accompanied by a promotional video, the single "Something Has To Break" was released which ensured the pole position in several independent playlists on Spotify.

Blackbird Leys music is contaminated by different influences, thanks to the diversity of genres appreciated by the members of the group, Alternative Metal / Post Grunge that were made famous by Breaking Benjamin, Three Days Grace, Papa Roach and many others. These were assimilated and reworked into the original and modern music of the Roman band.
