Blacker Than Gold

Bobby J, better known as Blacker Than Gold, is a Hip-Hop artist from Northwest, England. His music is a unique mixture of Urban Uk Hip-Hop, Pop, Soul, and traditional Rap music.

His catchy and versatile flow, took form over 10 years ago, after joining Hip-Hop trio, 'The Gar'. The trio consisted of himself and his 2 cousins, Benny Blaze and Dirty D (who sadly passed away last year).

Following the success of their debut mixtape, 'Stoke - No City For Old Boys'. The Gar quickly became recognised and managed to secure a spot on the multi-platinum selling producer, Herb Middleton's 'The UTurn Project'. Which thereafter, was a success that led to multiple tracks being produced for the trio, and more recently for Blacker Than Gold.

Sometime later, he decided to take a break from music and travel, whilst working aboard some of the worlds most luxurious cruise ships. However, despite his music having taken a backseat, it remained in the foreground of his mind as he continued writing and evolving his sound. Over time, his passion for music inevitably grew stronger; consequently, leading to his return to the music world.

Now back on the scene and determined to take the UK by storm, we introduce you to Blacker Than Gold
